**CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASS:** Under general supervision, develops and implements policy, procedures, systems and best practices with regard to inventory, for the purpose of maintaining accurate information and inventory levels. Identifies any deficiencies and inefficiencies, making correctional recommendations. Oversees implementation of approved recommendations.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES:** Develop, implement, and monitor key functions related to inventory transactions to assure that they are accurate and timely. Works to determine proper inventory levels. Studies the trends in production to determine the best quantities to keep on hand without carrying large amounts of material. Coordinate a cycle count program. Coordinate the cycle count progress and results providing regular reports on results. Work with key personnel to effectively implement process improvements to keep inventory levels at the proper amount. Analyzes inventory inaccuracies to determine the cause and take steps to prevent inaccuracies in the future. Uses reports and knowledge of inventory levels to put together orders for replenishment. Monitor warehouse transfers for accuracy and cost effectiveness as directed by Purchasing and Distribution management. Maintains inventory control records, reporting them to management on a regular basis. **RELATED DUTIES:** Creates and documents new processes to ensure that employees follow and understand them. Identifies and disposes of excess and obsolete inventory.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**

Training and Experience A Bachelors degree in Business or related field and one year of distribution, warehouse and inventory experience or equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills Knowledge of production and inventory control process, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of inventory control systems. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Good problem solving abilities and analytical skills. Effective organization skills. Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**

Manual dexterity and continual use of computers. Occasional bending, frequent sitting. Working Conditions Office environment and occasional exposure to manufacturing plant environment, with some abnormal variations in temperature, unavoidable fumes, noise, dust and atmospheric conditions.
