**Job Summary:** The Guest Concierge will report to the Administrator and assist residents during their stay. The Guest Concierge position will help to improve customer service relations. Welcomes residents and family members upon admission. Provides non-clinical support to our guests including answering call lights and reporting to staff any resident needs they cannot fulfill. Assists staff in taking meal orders, passing out meal trays, and passing ice, water and snacks. Be able to assist residents with meals and encouragement during meal times. Report meal consumption and fluid intake. Setting up rooms for new admissions and making beds. Assist Activities Department to provide activities for all guests, including transporting to activities. Assist residents to and from in-house beauty shop, podiatry, audiology and other appointments. Follow up with residents post discharge to ensure a smooth transition. **JOB QUALIFICATIONS:** **A) EDUCATION AND TRAINING**: High School Diploma required, college preferred **B) LICENSING/REGISTRATION/ CERTIFICATION:** None required **C) EXPERIENCE**: None required, long-term care experience preferred.

**D) SKILLS AND ABILITIES:** Exceptional customer service skills and professional appearance. Strong verbal communication skills and approachable demeanor. Must be patient, tactful, and kind in his or her approach with the residents. An individual without requisites stated above may present a written justification explaining the relevance of his/her background for a specific vacant position. Depending on organizational needs and availability of more qualified applicants, an applicant may have some or all requisites revised or waived at Bethesda Health Group's discretion. Transports residents.

**PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT:** Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Ability to lift objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance as necessary. Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40 lbs. using proper techniques and with assistance as necessary. Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with patient and equipment, which may include pushing buttons, adjusting dials, turning on/off switches, buckling, holding and positioning limbs/body parts, etc. ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Long-term care setting. May be exposed to sharps, blood, body fluids, and chemicals.

**BLOOD BORNE PATHOGENS CATEGORY**: Exposure Risk: High-Offer Hepatitis B vaccination **HEPATITIS A VACCINATION:** Required

**MACHINES/EQUIPMENT/TOOLS**: PRIMARY: Lifts, Wheelchair, Beds, Telephone, Computer Hardware and Software

**SECONDARY:** Facsimile Machine, Copier

**HIPAA Requirement:** The Guest Concierge will have limited access to PHI necessary for the performance of the duties of this position.

**PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES**: The following description of job responsibility and standards is intended to reflect the major responsibilities and duties of the job, but is not intended to describe minor duties and other responsibilities as may be assigned.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS**: All are essential job functions according to ADA guidelines. These are measured by supervisory observation, staff and resident/family feedback, review of documentation, and in-service attendance.

Assists residents to and from in-house beauty shop, podiatry, audiology and other appointments. 7 Follow up with residents post discharge to ensure a smooth transition. 8 May be assigned other duties as appropriate.
