****Position Summary****

As a Pilot Plant Technician, youll be responsible for assisting with organizing and performing pilot plant trials and associated support work under general supervision. Youll be performing light mechanical repair/plumbing as required and be responsible for interacting with project teams and participating in project discussions. Youll also actively participate in cross-training as needed as well as learning new skills required due to technology advances.

* Organize and prepare formulations, as per R&D requirements, and perform pilot plant trials in a safe and efficient manner

* Set-up, operate and clean food-processing equipment

* Maintain equipment in good sanitary and working condition

* Maintain a safe and organized work area

* Organize and record data as outlined in the trial request

* Prepare summaries of trial results with recommendations for processing/product improvements based on observations

* Working skills/knowledge of equipment and unit operations in the pilot plant

* Adhere to all facility policies concerning safety, security, Good Laboratory and Good Manufacturing Practices (GLP & GMP)

* Travel as required for factory trials, factory start-ups or training

* Practice safety in the work area

* Reviews/Updates SOPs and SSOPs

* Additional duties as assigned

**Skills:**

* Good mechanical skills or aptitude

* Good teamwork, interpersonal, communication, organization, math and writing skills

* Computer literacy

**Requirements:**

* High School Diploma (or GED)

* Working knowledge of factory type equipment operations

* 3+ years experience in a similar setting (factory or pilot plant)

* Willingness to become a licensed forklift operator

* Ability to stand, push, pull, kneel, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the day
